Alice J. Siders

Alice J. Siders, age 84 of East Springfield, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Pleasant Ridge Manor – West in Girard, Pa., where she had been recently residing.

Alice was born in Erie, Pa., on July 26, 1930, the daughter of the late Arnold and Nina (Howland) DeVore.

Alice worked for many years at the Peggy Gray Candy Shop in North Springfield where she was the official Candy Dipper especially for the major holidays.  She was a member of the West Springfield Baptist Church and enjoyed her flower gardens, reading her Bible and devotional reading and in her earlier years, she loved being outside where she could enjoy the many beautiful things that God has created.

Besides her parents, Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Henry W. Siders on May 4, 1992; a brother, Gary DeVore; and a sister, Mary Mundkowsky.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen Mayberry and her husband, Ken; and two sons, Timothy J. Siders and his wife, Christine, and Phillip L. Siders and his wife, Annette -  all children are from East Springfield, Pa.  Alice is also survived by two sisters, Ruth Bentley and her husband, Niel of Espyville, Pa., and Norma Turner and her husband, Dale of East Springfield, Pa.  She also has two wonderful Grandchildren, Zak and Katrina.

There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Alice at the West Springfield Baptist Church on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Andrew Shields officiating the services.  Burial will be made in Springfield Cemetery next to her husband, Henry.
