Burl Alexander

Buddy Alexander, age 87 of Albion, Pa., died peacefully at his home on Friday, January 23, 2015.

Buddy was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 18, 1927, the son of the late Charles and Mary (Street) Alexander.  He worked for 24 years at the St. Christopher by the River Church in Cleveland, Ohio as their sexton.  He entered the U.S. Army during  World War II and enjoyed many activities such as gardening and watching the horses at the racetrack.

Besides his parents, Buddy is preceded in death by a sister, Uless Donahue.

Buddy is survived by his wife, Linda J. (Hale) Alexander and five children:  Evelyn Sue Keen of Grundy, Va.; Melissa Hale-Heeter of Albion, Pa.; and Elizabeth, Jacob, and Dillon Alexander at Home.  There are also many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held in memory of Buddy  on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Net Gerber of the Cranesville United Methodist Church, officiating.  Memorials may be made to the family in care of the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 235, East Springfield, PA 16411.
