Dorothy J. Crowl, age 87 of Girard, Pa. went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Dorothy was born in Hilliards, Pennsylvania on November 28, 1930 the daughter of the late George M. and Carrie (McJunkin) Eyster.
She had worked at both the Marx Toys Company and the Girard Tannery for many years. In her younger years, Dorothy was a member of the Cherry Hill Grange. She also enjoyed playing bingo, reading, working crossword puzzles, wordsearch puzzles, and putting jigsaw puzzles together. She enjoyed gardening and she had become quite the reader of the Bible. However, one of her biggest enjoyments have been her grandchildren. All 25 total of them.
Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Deloris “Punky”; her son, Bill and his wife, Diane Crowl.
She is survived by two sons and their wives; Lewis and Kathy Crowl and James and Becky Crowl both of Conneaut, Ohio and a Sister, Alberta Kulik of Florida. And Seven Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great Grandchild.
Friends and Family are invited to attend a Time of Remembrance at the New Beginnings Church in Fairview, Pa where Dorothy was a member on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 4-5:30 p.m. at which time Pastor Paul Friend will lead the Family and Friends in a Remembrance Service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made to the New Beginnings Church, 7195 W. Ridge Road, Fairview, PA 16415. Arrangements have been under the care of the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, East Springfield, PA www.jeanevansthompsonfh.com.
