Emma C. Lovin, age 81, of Albion, Pa. died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at UPMC Hamot, Erie, Pa.
She was born in Girard, Pa on September 28, 1936 the daughter of the late Archie Laverne and Martha Caroline (Kemling) Bateman.
Emma was quite the business woman. She owned the Lovin Pottery Shop in the 1950’s which later turned into a Fruit Stand, then she opened an Antique and Gun Shop in Fairview in 1971 that lasted into the 90’s. Emma was quite involved in many things. She went to church wherever she happened to be staying at the time. She would attend the Weis Library United Methodist and then she would attend the New Beginnings in Fairview. She was a member of the NRA, Cancer Society, and the ASPCA. When Emma felt really good, she really enjoyed crotcheting and reading. Her main occupation has been adoring her Grandchildren – all 48 of them totaled.
Besides her parents, Emma is preceded in death by her husband, Fred on 8-23-1988, and a brother, Archie Bateman and a Great-Grandson, Xavier Simos.
She is survived by Seven Children: John Fred Lovin (Nena), Roy Lovin, Louise Salhoff, Edward Lovin (Debbie), Linda Pitt-Kalman, Marsha Jones (Ben), and Jack Petri (Brenda) and Eight Sisters: Laura, Gladys, Dorothy, Ella, Nellie, Martha, Elizabeth, and Carole and a Brother, Charles Bateman. She is also survived by 25 Grandchildren and 23 Great-Grandchildren.
