Janet K. (Jones) Batykefer

Janet K. Batykefer, age 75 of Albion, Pa, was killed suddenly due to an automobile accident on Tuesday morning, November 23, 2021.

Janet was born on September 19, 1946, the daughter of the late Allen I. and Jeanette E. (Rechlin) Jones in Dunkirk, NY. She graduated from high school and married Rody W. Batykefer, Jr. Together they raised three children. Rody, Craig, and Kimberly. During her lifetime, Janet worked for Rich’s Donuts (Maple Donuts) in Lake City, Pa. She also enjoyed baking and shopping at the Thrifty Shopper shops. She had been a 4-H Leader over 30 years in the Northwestern area which finally came up with the name Caprine Companions. Janet was so proud of this accomplishment. She also enjoyed animals of all kinds. She didn’t know how to say “NO” to strays or any types of animals. She would bring them all in as part of her family. She also enjoyed raising her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband in 2003 and a brother, William Jones.

She is survived by her three children Rody M. Batykefer and Craig W. (Cassandra) Batykefer all of Albion, Pa., and Kimberly A. Young (Michael) of Maiden, NC and ten grandchildren; Kelly, Sandra and Craig, Jr., Roddy, Jr., Cody, Colby, and Zach, Landon, Stephen, and Adaline, and one Great-Granddaughter; Isabel.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held in Memory of Janet Batykefer at the Stone House in the Albion Boro Park on Saturday afternoon, November 27, 2021 from 11 am to 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the ANNA Shelter or the Caprine Companions 4-H Group.
