Jerome “Jerry” L. DeHaven
Jerome L. DeHaven, known to many of his friends as “Jerry” passed away quietly at his home with his wife, Paula by his side on Sunday, May 5, 2024.
Jerry was born in Millcreek, Pennsylvania on March 3, 1940, the son of the late James L. and Ellen G. (Mayhue) DeHaven. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army for two years and upon completion, he drove truck for different companies hauling produce all along the upper East coast. He then worked at General Electric as a machinist for several years and then worked at Penelec before retiring. When he wasn’t working, Jerry enjoyed reading non-fiction books and especially enjoyed picking on his wife for the past “56” years.
Besides his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, James Robert DeHaven and a sister, Delores Publicover.
He will be missed by his wife, Paula after 56 years of wonderful marriage and three daughters; Cynthia G. Lewis of Erie, PA; Leigh E. DeHaven of Alexandria, VA; and Heather Ann DeHaven of Erie, PA. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Ellen Powell of Erie, PA. Jerry was proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
No public services will be held for Jerry.
