John L. Steinhoff, age 71, died peacefully in his sleep at Pleasant Ridge Manor in Girard, Pa. where he had been residing.
John was born in Albion, Pa. on November 21, 1944 to the late John D. and Catherine (McFadden) Steinhoff. John had become disabled when he was a youngster; however, he did not let that get him down. Even though he wasn’t able to do many of the things that everyone else could do, John was able to strive above and beyond and he learned many talents and found out that he had many hidden gifts. John liked to go for long walks. He loved nature and watching movies and he especially enjoyed playing his guitar and playing and listening to country music.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by brothers, Dick Steinhoff and William Lago and a sister, Pearl Hicks.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Bessie Lago of Albion, Pa. and a niece, Donna (Bryan) Lambert and nephews; William (Tami) Lago, Robert (Sandy) Lago, Mark, John, and Donald Lago.
Friends and Family are invited to call at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home at 11883 Main Street, East Springfield, Pa on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. and are invited to attend Life Celebration Services on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Marshall Lillie of the Conneaut Valley Church of the Nazarene. John will be later laid to rest in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Kingsville, Ohio.
