John Szablowsky
John Szablowsky, age 68 of Waynesburg, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Compassionate Care Center in Canton, Ohio where he had recently been residing.
John was born in Germany on March 1, 1950, the son of the late Nicholas and Anna (Tarashuk) Szablowsky.
He enjoyed fishing, was an avid Browns and Indians Fan and liked to play the Lottery and Euchre. He also enjoyed playing cards with his daughters. He enjoyed life to the fullest and truly enjoyed his family. He was a member of the Ukranian Church in Akron and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for the United Steel Workers Union.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda (Coleman) Szablowsky and a sister, Olga King.
He is survived by three daughters: Roxanne and Tina Lyman both of Canton, Ohio and Anne Szablowsky of Waynesburg, Ohio; his mother-in-law, Elsie Coleman of East Springfield, Pa; and a sister, Mary Baker (Jim) of Akron, Ohio; and a brother, Jerry Szablowsky of Virginia. He is also survived by a Grandson, Tony McNutt.
Friends and Family are invited to call at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home at 11883 Main Street, East Springfield, Pa 16411 on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from Noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m. which will be celebrated by Father John Mihalco of the Ss. Cyril’s Methodius Church of Girard, Pa. Burial will immediately follow in Springfield Cemetery where John will be laid to rest next to his wife, Brenda.
