June (Waldo) Eaton Pohl, age 81, a resident of Jefferson, Ohio, died peacefully in her sleep while camping with her daughter and some of her grandchildren at the Haircreek Campground in Corry, Pennsylvania on early Sunday morning, August 27, 2017.
She was born in Cranesville, Pennsylvania on August 19, 1936, the daughter of the late William M. and Alice E. (Goodenow) Waldo.
June was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ashtabula, Ohio and she enjoyed playing bingo, sewing, making pillows, all sorts of crafty items, and traveling. When asked what her favorite place to travel to was, her family said, “Florida, without a doubt”! June was not a woman to sit still. She was always doing something. She especially enjoyed doing things with her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, June was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence A. Eaton and her second husband, Michael Pohl in 2016 and a daughter-in-law, Vickie and several siblings.
June is survived by four daughters: Judy Ross (Steve) of Erie; Cindy Daly (Paul) of South Carolina; Sandy Thompson (Bill) of Jefferson, OH; Sheryl Vigarito (Danny) of Kent, OH; and five sons: Richard Eaton (Barb) of South Carolina; Robert Eaton of Warren, OH; Lenny Eaton (Cindy) of Newberry, OH; Russell (Rubin) of Cherryville, NC; and Jimmy Eaton (Aida) of West Springfield, PA and 29 Wonderful Grandchildren, and 20 Great-Grandchildren.
June liked the simple things in life and was not one to have people make a fuss over her or about anything. There will be no calling hours for her per her request. Her burial will be in the Springfield Cemetery next to her husband as her family quietly says “Good Bye” quietly – just the way she wanted it.
