Marie (VanCise) Eldridge

Marie Eldridge, age 91 took the Lord’s hand walked with him through the heavenly gates on Sunday night, October 10, 2021 at Pleasant Ridge Manor were she had been recently residing.

Marie was born on August 2, 1930, the daughter of the late Chester Roy and Lillie Elissa (Whitman) VanCise in Centerville, PA.

Marie was a member of the Federated Church and enjoyed working in her flower gardens and crafting with plastic canvas.  She was a strong believer in Christ and read her Bible daily and enjoyed the many gifts that God has given her.  Marie was a hard worker.  She had worked in various homes doing home health care and also had served as Hostess and other light duties at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home for 22 years.

Besides her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Eldridge and a daughter, Debbie Estes and a son, Rick Eldridge and three brothers; Harold, Elwin, and Delbert VanCise and a sister-in-law, Kathleen VanCise.

She is survived by a son, Randy (Amy) Eldridge of Girard, Pa.; a daughter, Joy Smith of Girard, Pa; and a daughter-in-law, Patty Eldridge of Erie, Pa.  She was blessed with ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will honor Marie and she will be buried next to her husband, Frank in the Springfield Cemetery.
