Mary Jane Schauman

Mary Jane Schauman, age 86 of East Springfield, Pa., died peacefully with her family around her on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the home of her caregiver and cousins, Jack and Nancy Moore.

Mary Jane was born in Girard, Pennsylvania on November 8, 1928, the daughter of the late Albert F. and Bess (Beatman) Schauman. 

She became a member of the Federated Church on May 15th, 1960.  She loved her cats, Jessie and Beary and she enjoyed doing yard work, tending to her flowers, and mowing the lawn.

Besides her parents, Mary Jane is preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Plaster; a brother, Ted Caldwell; and a nephew, Gregory Lucas.

She is survived by her caregivers and family members; a niece, Carolyn Bordner and cousins, Jack and Nancy Moore of East Springfield, Pa.  She is also survived by a nephew, Jack Plaster of Tallahasee, Fl.

There will be no calling hours or services at this time for Mary Jane.  Burial will take place in Springfield Cemetery at a later time.  The family would like to thank the Regional Home and Health Hospice for all their support and help during the last days of Mary Jane’s life.  They made Mary Jane comfortable and the family at ease during such a hard time.  Thanks again.
