Pearl Irene (Thornton) Carr

Pearl I. Carr, 79, better known as Pearline, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday morning, May 6, 2015 at St. Vincent Health Center, Erie, Pa.

Pearline was born on March 15, 1936 to the daughter of the late Anson and Irene E. (Gollmer) Thornton, Sr. in Albion, Pa. in a place many people around here call Jumbo Woods in Conneaut Twp.

Pearline worked for many years doing different things.  She worked at the East Springfield Post Office with Nick Nachman, she sold Stanley Home Products, and worked long hours at the Carr’s Produce Market in Conneaut, the staff custodian of the Federated Church where she was a member, and taking care of her husband, Darrel.  When she wasn’t working, Pearline was a devoted Christian.  She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and Bible School, singing with the Adult Church Choir.   She was a member of the Springfield Home and Garden Club, and she enjoyed painting ceramics.  

Besides her parents, Pearline was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Williams and a brother, Billy Thornton.

Pearline is survived by her loving husband, Darrel A. Carr and a sister, Jeanette Baer of Crossingville, Pa., and a brother, Anson Thornton, Jr., several nieces and nephew, and many, many friends.

Friends and family are invited to call at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend Life Celebration Services there on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. with Pastor Ed Huntley of the Federated Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Springfield Cemetery.
