Phyllis J. English, age 70 of West Springfield, Pa. passed away at her home early Sunday morning, October 25, 2015.
Phyllis was born on November 24, 1944 in Liverpool, Pa., the daughter of Alice (Casey) Lenhart of Girard, Pa. and the late Clifford Lenhart. Phyllis retired from the former Springfield Plastics Shop that was in East Springfield. She was a country girl by heart. She enjoyed fishing and motorcycle traveling with her husband, Bruce, in their earlier years. She was an avid Jeff Gordon NASCAR fan. She also enjoyed taking pictures of her family and hanging them around her house. She loved gardening and growing flowers, shopping, coupon cutting, and she loved her many cats.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce in 2000; a brother, Clarence Lenhart; and a sister, Patty O’Connell.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Bruce G. English, Jr. and his wife, Teresa of Albion, Pa.; a sister, Bonnie Guy of Conneaut, Oh.; a brother, Richard Lenhart and his wife, Sandy of West Springfield, Pa., and a grandson, Tony English. She is also survived by a close friend, Mark Renzi, her oldest friend, Georgia Delo and her best friend, Barb Tallman, several nieces and a nephew.
A Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held at the State Line Methodist Church, at the corner of Rt. 226 and State Line Road on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dave Anderson, officiating. Family and Friends are invited to a pot-luck luncheon at the home of Phyllis English after the services where they can enjoy fellowship and memories. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Bruce in Springfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to the family.
