Rachael E. (Ahlberg) English  

Rachael E. English, age 84 of Girard, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on Friday evening, August 29, 2014 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West in Fairview, Pa.

She was born on July 20, 1930 in Conneaut, Ohio, the daughter of the late George and Impi (Kesatie) Ahlberg. 

She retired from the Erie Ceramic Arts and was a member of the West Springfield United Methodist Church.  She was the Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Albion Chapter #22 and enjoyed scrapbooking, collecting pictures, flea marketing and yard sales, baking pies, canning and playing the piano and organ.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ehrland Ahlberg.

She is survived by her  loving husband, Merle “Ted” English and two daughters:  Barbara English-Turos (Clark) of Baltimore, MD; and Jody Heaton (Glenn) of Ireland, W.VA.; and three sons:  Merle English (Susan) of Chicago, IL; Chuck English (Jean) of Albion, PA; and Raymond English of Fairview, PA.  Rachael is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and an Eastern Star Service will be held Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, 11883 Main Street, East Springfield, Pa.  A Life Celebration Service will be held on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Barb English of the McKean United Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in Springfield Cemetery.
