Sherry L. (Lord) Bankes

Sherry L. Bankes, age 78 of East Springfield, Pa., went home to be with her Savior on Wednesday morning, May 17, 2023 at Pleasant Ridge Manor, Girard, Pa.

Sherry was born on October 13, 1944, the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Arthur) Lord in Oakland, California.

She graduated from the Strong Vincent High School in Erie, Pa and was a member of the New Life Community Church in Fairview, Pa.  Sherry enjoyed bird watching, being active in her church, flowers, and playing with her cats.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Bankes, Jr., and her son Damon Paternaster.

Sherry is survived by her daughter, Deanna (David) Calladine of Hutto, TX and four grandchildren:  Bryant Silman, Brandon Richardson, Brandon and Brittany Calladine and four great-grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home at 11883 Main Street, East Springfield, Pa on Monday, May 22 from 2 to 4 and again from 6 to 8 p.m.  A Life Celebration Service will be held on Tuesday, May 23 at 11 am with Pastor Abe Edwards of the New Life Community Church, officiating. Sherry will be laid to rest in Springfield Cemetery at the family’s convenience with her husband Art and next to her son, Damon.
