Sherry E. (Pierce) Poorman

Sherry Poorman, age 68, recently living at Pleasant Ridge Manor in Girard, PA. went home to be with her Lord on Thursday evening, December 1, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital, Erie, Pa.

Sherry was born in Conneaut, Ohio on July 27, 1954, the daughter of the late Farley and Emma (Hinds) Pierce, grew up in East Springfield, PA and lived most of her life in Erie, PA.

She graduated from Northwestern High School in 1972 and Villa Maria College in 1977 with her BA in Teacher Education.  She volunteered at church and various nursing homes in the Erie area and enjoyed reading to residents.  In her spare time, Sherry loved to read, watch old TV shows, play bingo and Yahtzee, and listening to music.  In recent years she greatly enjoyed connecting with friends and especially keeping up with her many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews on Facebook.

Besides her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is survived by two loving brothers; Kenneth L. (Judy) Pierce of East Springfield, Pa., and Keith L. (Eileen) Pierce of Mequon, WI and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews living in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Virginia.

A Memorial Gathering and visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023  from 10 to 11 am at the Conneaut Church of God, Route 7, Conneaut, OH. followed by  Celebration of Life Memorial Services officiated by Pastor Carson Robson.  A private burial will follow at the Springfield Cemetery, East Springfield, Pa. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Manor Friends Forever Fund, The Conneaut Church of God, or a charity of your choice.
