Teofilo Serrano Gomez
Teofilo Gomez, age 88 of Albion passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the Crawford Care Center in Saegertown, Pa.
Teo was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico on December 28, 1936, the son of the late Victor (Serrano) and Antonia Gomez.
Teo moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during his teenage years. He worked at various places of employment until he started working on the railroad. He started as a laborer and worked himself up to Crew Leader on the Track Maintenance. He worked for Penn Central, Conrail, and CSX until his retirement in December 2001 with over 30 years of service.
Teo liked buying, selling, and “tinkering” on cars. He never kept the same car for too long and was always looking for another one. He enjoyed taking Sunday drives with his family and was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed.
Teo is survived by his wife, Eva, whom he married on December 26, 1961 and his children; Louis Serrano, Maria Serrano, Teofilo Serrano Jr. (Jennifer), Ricky Serrano (Sherry), Michael Serrano, and David Serrano (Stacey) and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a brother and a sister.
Family, friends and neighbors are invited to call on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, 11883 Main Street, East Springfield, PA. A Life Celebration Service will be held for Teo at a later date and burial will be in the Albion Cemetery.
