William James “Jim” Henderson

William “Jim” Henderson, age 78 of East Springfield, Pa., passed away on Tuesday morning, February 6, 2024 at Manchester Commons in Fairview, Pa, where he had been recently residing.

Jim was born in Erie, Pa., the son of the late William “Bill” and Hazel (Thomas) Henderson.  

He worked for many years at RPC Valve (now known as PHB) in Fairview and he retired from American Hollow Boring, where he worked as a maintenance technician.  Jim had a small machine shop in his garage that he enjoyed working on different things and he also liked working with electronics.   He enjoyed camping, taking pictures of the Eagles at the lake and different areas, and he was very fond of his dog, Riley.  

Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Penny in 2003 and his daughter Trisha Pursell in 2023, and his sister, Marge Miller.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Kim Henderson; two Grandsons, Chance Henderson and Ryan Lazan, a son-in-law, Mark Pursell and and two sisters, Ethel Workman and Linda (Jim) Rea and a brother, Dan Henderson; and three brothers-in-law, Dave Miller, Walter (Sheila) Silman, and Rodney (Chris) Silman and many nieces and nephews.  

Friends and family will be received on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 10 to the time of the service at 2 p.m. at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, 11883 Main Street, East Springfield, Pa.  Burial will follow in the Springfield Cemetery.
