Zella M. (Fails) Goodenow

Zella M. Goodenow, age 91 of Conneaut, Ohio, died late Sunday night, July 14, 2019 at the David Simpson Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio where she had only recently been residing the last three days of her life.

Zella was born on February 29, 1928 in Fairview, PA, the daughter of the late William S. and Alice (Shaffer) Fails.

She attended schools in East, West and North Springfield, Pa., graduating in Conneaut, Ohio on July 19, 1950. She married Allen W Thompson of Ashtabula and lived there for 15 years. After she divorced Allen, she met and married Arthur G. Goodenow on August 26, 1966 and lived in Conneaut, Ohio where she currently resided untill recently. She enjoyed flower gardening and embroidery and other sewing. She also enjoyed working on crafts including ceramics.

Besides her parents, Zella was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur on April 12, 1992 and a stepson, John Goodenow who passed away in April 1995 at the age of 52. Also two sisters; Wanda Whalen and JoAnne Cushman and two brothers; Ralph and Paul Fails.Zella is survived by two sisters; Mary Mailiard and Virginia Angerer both of Girard, PA and she is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no calling hours or services for Zella. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Arthur, at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Kingsville, Ohio. Arrangements were handled by the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home in East Springfield, Pa.
